Funded by the European Union’s TARGET-X consortium in 2024, this project focuses on the design, manufacture, and control of autonomous truck prototypes communicating via 5G technology. The goal is to develop a control algorithm that improves both energy efficiency and safety for a convoy of trucks moving together. By leveraging advanced communication protocols and innovative control strategies, these trucks can autonomously follow each other, reduce fuel consumption, and enhance road safety. This project represents a significant step in the integration of cutting-edge communication technologies with intelligent transportation systems.
