We are proud to announce the successful completion of the RTwin-CAV (Real-Time Road Digital Twin for Connected Autonomous Vehicle Safety) project, developed with support from the EU-funded TARGET-X program. Building upon our previous work in 5G-enabled autonomous vehicle communication, RTwin-CAV takes a major leap forward by integrating real-time object detection using advanced AI (YOLOv10) and depth/RGB cameras with a live digital twin environment built in Unity. With ultra-low-latency communication over 5G edge infrastructure, the system enables real-time vehicle tracking, obstacle awareness, and remote control capabilities—all visualized in a synchronized 3D virtual environment. Validated through live field testing at IDIADA, one of Europe’s premier automotive proving grounds, this project represents a critical step toward safer, smarter, and remotely manageable autonomous mobility solutions.
